Plitvice to Dubrovnik Airport via Ston

We had an easy day of travel today. We stopped in Ston to see but not walk the walls. It was way to hot for that today.

Popsicles fit the bill nicely.

Made it to the Sky Apartments and said goodbye to our trusty Opel Crossland before dinner.

We're repacked and ready to head home tomorrow. We'll be in Amsterdam tomorrow and home by Saturday evening.

A few of my favorite signs from the trip

Ping Pong Anyone?

We played a few games of ping pong last night after dinner. The concrete tables were permanent, and we got the net, paddles, and ball from reception.

None of us were very good, but we had fun with it!

Plitvice Lakes National Park

We had a beautiful day in Plitvice Lakes National Park.  We elected to hike "Program C," which included 8km of hiking, an electric boat ride across one of the bigger lakes, and a "train" ride back to the entrance area.

Many people joined us, and there were many beautiful views and waterfalls.  This was one of the highlights of the trip for me, for sure.

Plitvice Holiday Resort

We finally stayed somewhere with a pool! Anna and James are enjoying it immensely.  This camping resort has lake houses, tree houses, rv and camping sites. We are staying in rooms near the pool.

Liz is reading and I am writing in my sketchbook and updating the blog.

It was a nice tour and a first "completely dark" experience for both kids

Morning wandering in Pula

We went back to the Arena to see inside, and we enjoyed walking around Pula center.  We enjoyed the same restaurant for breakfast and lunch before departing to Krk.

Krk - Island and City

A bit of traffic slowed our trip to Krk, but it was nothing in comparison to the traffic leaving the island as Assumption Monday holiday concluded.

We headed straight to our apartment and walked down to a lovely rocky beach. We all swam and enjoyed ourselves.  In the evening we walked to the center for dinner. We stopped for a vendor to create profiles of the kids - he was fun and animated.

After dinner we wandered the old city and saw its castle.  Krk is a nice size and looks to have all the options for beaches and leisure.

Hardware Store in Pula

James has been on a mission to visit a Croatian hardware store, and we found an open one in Pula. He both celebrated and critiqued it and was certainly in his element.
